My name is Lucille M. Duprey Ledée and am currently pursuing my last year as a Mechanical Engineering student with a minor in Aerospace Engineering. I decided to join the VEX PUPR team ever since I saw the team practice for the SkyRise competition. I was not able to join the team at that time due to the lack of positions in the team. Finally, two years later, many positions opened due to the students graduating, and was able to join the team. I was one of the team leaders during the Starstruct competition. Thanks to that, I learned how to work with others. I learned how differently people can work to achieve the same goal and learned how to adapt to each of my team's needs for the better of our team. It was a very enriching experience which I will never forget. After the end of that competition, I decided to stay in the team, but as a mechanic, due to the fact that I needed more time to focus on my final year as a student. I cannot be happier of that decision. It is saddening knowing this is my last year in VEX. This team has helped me grow in ways that no class ever can and never could.
My name is Michell Ortiz and am currently on my last year as a Mechanical Engineering student in the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. I decide to join the VEX PUPR team at the middle of last year competition. I was always hanging out with the team because a lot of them are my friends and I always tried to help them. They needed a new member, so I jump to the opportunity of being officially part of the team. Thanks to the team I learned a lot of things like leadership, group work, proper manage of time as the same time that I put my knowledge in practice. This year have been wonderful and full of experiences. I have work with the construction of the robot and webpage, that unfortunately we did not finish on time for submission because of the lack of internet after hurricane Maria. This team made me grow as a human and professional. I am going to keep every memory with me for the rest of my life.
My name is Valerie Yuen. I study Computer Science at the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico. I joined VEX Robotics because I was genuinely interested in robotic. As a programmer, I believe it would provide insight to how programming affects the physical object directly, and also programming physical robots will serve as good experience for later on in the future
